Barack Obama was in Oregon over the weekend (drawing huge crowds).
What he said on the banks of the Willamete River, however, was scary. To quote (as AFP reports):
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said. "That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.
"That's not going to happen"? So what is going to happen? Government regulations about what type of car you can drive (oops, yes, it's called CAFE and it's here to stay), how much you can eat, and temperatures we'll set our thermostats at (viz, Jimmy Carter)?
Obama is showing a predilection for government control of more and more of our lives while willing to sit down with terrorist countries.
This man is looking more and more like Carter with a good tan. (And what is it about Oregon? Wasn't that where he proclaimed there's 57 or so states?)
